Can be used to obtain a tenant’s consent to release a key to the rental premises he or she occupies so that a service person can carry out maintenance or repair work.

Gaining entry to a property to carry out needed work can sometimes be complicated. The tenant can’t always be there to let the service person in, and the owner or manager can’t always take the time to attend.

This one-page Key Release form lets you record your tenant’s permission for you to release a key to his or her premises to the service person. This is needed so you are not responsible for any damage that may occur to the tenant’s possessions as a result of the visit.

ONE-PAGE FORM ALLOWS YOU TO SPECIFY:

• tenant’s name
• the date
• address of property
• name of the service person or company visiting the property
• time of the visit

It also gives you:

• the legal wording for your tenant to indemnify you against any loss to his or her possessions as a result of the visit, because he or she has declined the opportunity to be present.
